Richard Johnson – Founder & Principal

​

Richard Johnson is one of the UK’s most experienced tutors in therapy and integrative health. With a career spanning over 30 years, Richard has helped shape the industry through his involvement in:

  • Creating National Occupational Standards

  • Leading professional bodies

  • Sitting on regulatory and advisory boards
     

Richard continues to lead course development and teach at AHG, alongside running his private practice and consultancy services. He holds Fellowships with both the Royal Society for Public Health and the Royal Society of Medicine, and is a trustee of the Monastery Manchester.

Christian Platts – Director & Creative Lead

​

Christian Platts joined AHG in 2000 and has played a key role in shaping its development. After training with AHG and working as an in-house therapist, he became co-owner and now oversees creative strategy and student experience.

​

Christian’s background in Myofascial Release and advanced training in the Internal Family Systems (IFS) psychotherapy model allows him to bring a unique, trauma-informed perspective to his teaching and client work.

Kirsty Cooper – Head of Training & Quality Assurance

​

Kirsty Cooper trained with AHG in 2004 and now leads our training delivery, assessment, and quality assurance. A qualified Pilates Instructor and Health Coach with a special interest in cancer care, Kirsty brings a compassionate and structured approach to her role.

​

She has worked extensively with colleges, universities, awarding bodies and professional associations to support education accreditation and has helped develop national policies for the sports therapy sector.
